PIM was founded by the College of Engineering in 1993 to address the need of cultivating engineers who possess advanced skills in their engineering specialty, breadth across engineering disciplines, and an understanding of the complete product development and manufacturing process, including its management. Under the directorship of:
- Professor A. Galip Ulsoy (1993-1998)
- Yavuz Bozer (Interim PIM Director, Fall 1995 - Winter 1996)
- Professor Debasish Dutta (1998-2001)
- Professor Stacy Bike (Interim PIM Director, September 2001 - December 2001)
- Professor S. Jack Hu (2002 - March 2006)
PIM has seen significant growth in both its Master of Engineering in Manufacturing (MEM) and Doctor of Engineering in Manufacturing Programs. Students from the US, Canada, China, India and Mexico are currently enrolled in PIM. PIM is a true leader in global engineering education. As the Director of the program, I will strive to continue to maintain the academic excellence and at the same time continue the program growth. |
