Integrated Microsystems - Practicum
In Integrated Microsystems a practicum is required for the M. Eng. degree, but not for the CASE certificate. The practicum is the Engr 600 course, taken for 4 - 6 credit hours and involves not only a faculty mentor but also an industrial mentor. The work may be done on campus, at a corporate location, or a combination. Students may use existing job projects for credit, if they meet the requirements. After selecting the topic and the industrial and faculty mentor, students should submit a proposal for the planned effort, 8 weeks in advance of the initiation date. Once this is approved, the students may register for the course. At the end of the practicum, a report is required. The report must be approved by both mentors. A grade is assigned by the faculty mentor.
