Graduation Information for students in the following programs:
Automotive Engineering
Financial Engineering
Integrated Microsystems
Manufacturing Engineering
Pharmaceutical Engineering
Plastics Engineering

  • If you plan on graduating by this December, (end of Fall semester)
  • If you plan on graduating by this April, (end of Winter semester)
  • If you plan on graduating by this August, (end of Spring/Summer semester
    do the following:
at the beginning of the semester that you plan on graduating, go to Wolverine Access, log in and apply to graduate online. There are instructions at the Wolverine Access web site. Please note: If you are pursuing a joint degree (i.e., MBA/MEM-TMI), you must apply to graduation for both programs. The Wolverine online applying for graduation instructions should let you know the date by which you have to apply for graduation in order for your name to be in the graduation book.
InterPro office Needs to know you are graduating:
The InterPro graduate coordinators will periodically download the names of students who have applied to graduate. Once the graduate coordinators know who has applied to graduate, they will check the graduating students' Plans of Study to make sure they are ready to graduate. If the graduate coordinators find anything graduating students need to know regarding their Plans of Study, they will get in touch with the student.
InterPro office sends a reminder:
The InterPro office sends a group email to all InterPro students at the beginning of each semester reminding them that if they are ready to graduate, they need to apply to graduate through Wolverine Access.

Since our students are graduating at various times of the year, here are the following options in terms of walking for graduation.

To be eligible for graduation, you must have your plan of study approved by your faculty advisor and on file in the InterPro office. Check the advising webpage to download the plan of study forms and check the individual website for program requirements.

Winter Commencement

If you plan on graduating at the end of the Fall semester or Summer semester, you have the option to attend the Winter Commencement ceremonies. These ceremonies are limited to a Universitywide ceremony. InterPro students can walk in this ceremony. Please check the website for more information regarding tickets, caps and gowns, parking and ceremony program.

You can find out requirements and information about the University-Wide Winter Commencement at http://www.umich.edu/~gradinfo/winter/.

The College of Engineering hosts a brunch on the Sunday of the University-Wide Winter Commencement; brunch takes place prior to that ceremony http://www.engin.umich.edu/students/graduation/.

Spring Commencement

Students who graduate at the end of Fall semester also have the option to participate in the Spring Commencement ceremonies, along with candidates who are graduating at the end of the Winter Semester and students who plan on graduating at the end of the Summer semester. These commencement ceremonies have a Universitywide component, a College of Engineering component, and a Rackham Graduate School component (for Financial Engineering students only). Check the information on the website regarding tickets, caps and gowns, parking and ceremony program towards closer to graduation time. InterPro students are encouraged to attend the College of Engineering ceremonies, as they will be individually recognized by an InterPro representative.

For students that are graduating at the end of Summer semester, there is no graduation ceremony in August, but you have the option to attend the Spring Commencement ceremony prior or Winter Commencement subsequent.

InterPro has a special recognition dinner in March to recognize its recent and upcoming graduates. All students are encouraged to attend to celebrate theirs and their classmates achievements.
