UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN

COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
INTERDISCIPLINARY PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS

Dear Students:

The Program Directors, Student Advisors, Staff, and I would like to welcome you to the University of Michigan.

InterPro is a unit of the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan, created in 1999 to coordinate the several interdisciplinary professional programs within the College. InterPro seeks to combine the administrative resources of these programs and to foster a community of interdisciplinary, professional graduate students who will benefit from interrelated curricula, program concentrations, and research interests. The InterPro structure offers exciting possibilities for students interested in building expertise in a broad range of emerging and expanding industries.

More than 350 students are currently pursuing degrees in the six programs administered by InterPro: Automotive Engineering, New Program-Global Automotive and Manufacturing Engineering-Web Site Coming Soon, Integrated Microsystems, Financial Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering. The Automotive Engineering, Global Automotive and Manufacturing Engineering, Integrated Microsystem and Pharmaceutical Engineering programs offer Master of Engineering degrees, while students in Financial Engineering pursue a Master of Science degree. Students in Manufacturing Engineering may earn a Master of Engineering, Doctor of Engineering, or a joint Master of Engineering in Manufacturing/MBA degree.

You will be in contact with the InterPro staff frequently throughout your program. The InterPro staff will be available weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to answer any questions you may have.

We have designed this online Incoming Student Resources to introduce incoming students to their programs, to the University, and to the community.

I hope that you will find the online Incoming Student Resources to be a valuable source of information.

Please make sure to review the College of Engineering Honor Code at http:www.engin.umich.edu/students/honorcode/.

Again, I would like to welcome you, and we look forward to meeting all of you at the upcoming orientations. We will contact you soon with updates regarding the orientation dates and agenda.

Sincerely,
Henia Kamil
Program Manager
